Nurtured Beginnings: A 12-Month Postpartum Wellness Program
"Nurtured Beginnings" program, led by 30~TalkCares, seeks to address the critical mental health needs of low-income mothers experiencing postpartum depression (PPD). The program will provide comprehensive support services, including counseling, peer support groups, and creative therapeutic outlets such as art therapy. Our goal is to foster maternal well-being, enhance infant health outcomes, and strengthen family resilience.
Postpartum Depression affects approximately 1 in 7 women, disproportionately impacting those from low-income backgrounds due to limited access to resources. Left untreated, PPD can lead to adverse outcomes for both mother and child, including developmental delays and long-term mental health issues. Currently, there is a significant gap in affordable and accessible PPD support services in our target communities. We will provide services to expectant mothers and those who recently gave birth.
